On Wednesday, July 8, at 6:30 p.m., the Trumbull Library will host a screening of the movie Jaws to celebrate its 40th anniversary. A short, fun Jaws trivia session will open the evening, followed by a screening of this cinema classic.

June 20 marked the 40th anniversary of the nationwide release of the movie Jaws. The movie was adapted from Peter Benchley’s bestselling novel of the same name, which Benchley based on a series of shark attacks that occurred off the coast of New Jersey in 1916 and after an incident where a New York fisherman caught a 4,500 pound shark off the coast of Montauk in 1964.

The library will celebrate the milestone anniversary as well as the Discovery Channel’s “Shark Week” by showing the movie Jaws in the Community Room of the main library on Quality Street.

The movie is rated PG and has a running time of 124 minutes.

Free and open to the public. Register on the library’s website trumbullct-library.org or by calling 203-452-5197.
