The Trumbull Youth Lacrosse 8A boys travel team extended its unbeaten streak this year to 11 with four solid wins at the South Salem Spring Shootout en route to claiming the championship.
Quality wins against lacrosse powers John Jay and Bronxville were the bright spots in South Salem, N.Y.
Trumbull played great on both defense and offense, as the eighth graders led the tournament by giving up a tourney-low of 17 goals and netting a tourney-high 37 goals.
The team gets ready for the core of their CONNY schedule with upcoming games against Madison on Saturday, May 7, and another lacrosse powerhouse Ridgefield on Monday, May 9, at Indian Ledge at 7:30 p.m.
