The Trumbull United Fireballs U10 girls soccer team defeated Westport this Sunday, 2-1.

The Fireballs came from behind with an equalizer from Remy DeNomme  which set up Olivia Fuimara to knock home the game-winner with five minutes remaining

The comeback is the ongoing theme for the Fireballs' season. This win adds to a streak of success following a rough start. The girls began the fall with three consecutive losses, losing away games to teams from Old Greenwich, Shelton and Newtown.

But under the guidance of coach Tyler Jorge, the Fireballs have turned it around. They won their first league match against Monroe last month and are unbeaten since.

“I am so proud of all of you," Jorge told his team following Sunday’s victory. "You didn’t give up We are now five hundred (record).”

Indeed, the Fireballs' record improved to 3-3-1 in their league. However, the true test to see how much they have grown will come with their last two games. The girls will have rematches at home with Shelton and Old Greenwich.
