Westfield defeated Trumbull, 5-4 in 10 innings, to win the Babe Ruth 14 Year Old Regional Tournament in Massachusetts on Thursday. Westfield advances to the Babe Ruth World Series in Ocala, FL.

Mitchel Longley’s third hit for Westfield came on an 0-2 pitch with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th inning.

The game was tied at 1 after one inning and Westfield took a 3-1 lead in the third.

It was 4-1 in the sixth when Trumbull tied things with a three-run rally.

Nolan Nemchek had three hits and Robert Olah and Mike D’Agostino (double) had two hits, as each team had 10 hits in the final.
