Up front, Riley Connolly, Abby Gruttadauria, Lily Seltenreich kept Bethel’s goalie busy.

“They all played awesome,” Thunder coach Tyler Jorge said. “I’m loving the way they are playing. They never quit and fight until the end. I thought we were the better team, but sometimes that’s soccer. The better team doesn’t always win.”

In boys’ action, the U-11 Storm tied Westport in a wild 5-5 match.

Trumbull received a pair of goals from James Louw, while Luca Antonio, William Zaslow and Jake Biondi had one each.

Though, it was a high scoring affair, the player of the match, according to club’s coach Jason Golesky , was goalkeeper Gino Tarantino, who kept the Storm in the game with some spectacular saves.
