
The Trumbull Travel 10U travel baseball team jumped out to an early lead on Westport American and captured a 9-1 victory on Sunday at NIA Field in the East Shore National League championship game. The game was decided quickly as the undefeated Eagles scored seven runs in the first three innings.
Matthew Wood racked up two RBIs on three hits for Trumbull.
Dylan Lamy got it done on the mound, as he allowed one run over five innings. Lamy struck out four, walked none and gave up six hits.
Trumbull answered Westport American's top inning with one run of their own in the fourth on a run-scoring groundout by Sean Francoeur.
