The Trumbull Pisces continue to excel in the pool as they brought home four medals this past weekend at the 2016 Nutmeg Pentathlon at the East Lyme Aquatic Center.

With two months still remaining until the Connecticut Regional State Championships in July, coach Bill Strickland had the club in top form as they competed in this annual event.

Swimming against teams from across the state, the Pisces picked up two silver and bronze medals.

Placing second and taking home silver medals were Nicholas Paolella (age 12) in the Boys 11-12 Pentathlon (50 freestyle, 50 backstroke, 50 breaststroke, 50 butterfly and 100 individual medley) and Kristen Racicot (age 9) in the Girls 10 and under Pentathlon.

Taking third and winning the bronze medals were Grace Carravone (age 13) in the Girls 13-14 Octathlon (100, 200 and 500 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, 100 and 200 individual medley) and Elizabeth Stoelzel (age 12) in the Girls 11-12 Pentathlon.

The medals were awarded based upon the swimmers total aggregated times across the five or eight events. Pisces’ success across multiple age groups shows the depth and versatility that Strickland has developed with his swimmers.
