St. Joseph’s cheerleader prepares for world championships
Savannah Wade, a senior at St. Joseph High School, was recently invited to participate in the prestigious 2016 Cheerleading Worlds Championships taking place Saturday, April 23 through Friday, April 25 at the ESPN arena in Orlando.
Savannah has been a competitive cheerleader since the age of four, earning many regional and national titles, prior to becoming a St. Joseph’s cheerleader. She is currently a three-time state champion, national champion and individual national tumbling champion with St. Joseph’s.
In addition, she was recognized for being named to both the All-FCIAC and All-State First Teams. This latest invitation places her as a United States All-Star Federation (USASF) Level 5 Senior World's athlete competing with CT Spirit All-Stars in Hamden, CT.
Savannah and her teammates are headed down to compete at Disney World's ESPN complex on Thursday, April 21 after earning a paid bid in Ocean City earlier this month.
This international event will host 40 countries and more than 9000 cheer athletes who will be vying for world champion titles in senior and international divisions and categories.
Savannah is proud to represent Connecticut at the World’s showcase.
