Hillcrest Middle School students Griffin Schutz and Andrew Tinnesz have been named as 2014 Brine National All-Stars.

Schutz, a sixth grader, and Tinnesz, a seventh grader, have been selected to a 20-player team of middle schoolers in grades 6, 7 and 8 from around the state that will represent Connecticut at the 2014 Brine National Lacrosse Academy and Brine National Lacrosse Classic to be held in Boyds, Maryland June 30-July 3.

“Andrew and I have been playing together for a long time against teams from around Connecticut,” Schutz said. “It’s going to be great to play against some of the best kids from around the country at the Brine Classic.”

Tinnesz added, “It’s an honor to be able to represent Connecticut and to play with so many other skilled lacrosse players from our state. Griffin and I are really excited to participate and contribute to the team!”

The Brine National Lacrosse Academy brings the top middle school lacrosse players in the country to one venue, where regional teams will compete to become the 2014 National Champion where regional teams are coached by NCAA lacrosse coaches.
