The Trumbull Pisces continue to have a tremendous year sending a team-high 12 swimmers to the Connecticut Short Course Age Group Championships being held this weekend, March 10-March 13 at the Chelsea Piers Pool in Stamford.

In all, the Pisces swimmers qualified for a total of 38 Age Group Championship events. Coach Bill Strickland and the Pisces made a dramatic improvement over the previous season, where the Pisces sent three swimmers for seven events.

“We have an amazing group of kids and Coach Bill (Strickland) has fostered camaraderie within the team that is empowering for our kids and simply amazing to witness,” Pisces team President Michael Redgate said. “Watching them cheer is infectious and our parents learn from them as they learn from coach Bill.”

This weekend the team will be led by Alexander Ivanovich (10 individual event qualifications) and Liz Stoelzel (nine individual event qualifications), along with Jacqueline Dale (two), Supriya Ganti, Anna Haydostian, Hope Ivanovich,  Audrey Kehley, Cameron Kosak, Anisha Kurup, Nicholas Paolella (4), Kristen Racicot (5) and Keira Redgate.

The swimmers will also be competing in eight team relay events at the Age Group Championships: Girls 11/12 - 200 and 400 yard freestyle and 200 and 400 yard medley as well as the Girls 9/10 – 200 and 400 yard freestyle and 200 and 400 yard medley.
