Trumbull junior golfer Ian Brady won the gold medal in the putting event at the sub-regional qualifier of the National Drive, Chip & Putt competition sponsored by the USGA, PGA and The Masters, on Wednesday, July 30, at the TPC-River Highlands Golf Club, the home of the Traveler’s Championship, in Cromwell.

Brady placed fourth overall in the 7-9 year-old boys group. Approximately 20 golfers qualified to compete in this competition by placing in the top three at their local qualifying events.

Brady next competed in the US Kids Golf Tour event held at Tashua Knolls Golf Course in Trumbull on Monday, Aug. 4, and placed fourth overall in this event, which featured boys competing on this national tour from as far away as California.
