Ian Brady first in Kid's Golf tourney
Ian Brady, a Trumbull 4th grader, won the 1st place gold medal at the US Kid's Golf Tour tournament held in New Britain, on Oct. 10.
Brady, a 9 year old, took gold on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff. His score of 42 over 9 holes in regulation, reached a national PGA Invitational Tournament qualifying score.
The US Kids Golf Foundation organizes more than 600 golf tournaments for kids each year, including local tours in more than 40 cities, 10 Qualifiers across the nation, seven Regional Championships, a European Championship and the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship and Teen World Championship.
Brady began golfing at age 3, and enjoys being a part of the Tashua Knolls junior seasonal golf league, as well as Tashua junior summer golf traveling team. He practices at Oronoque Country Club in Stratford, under the instruction of Bob Mickool.
His parents, Dr. David and Stacey Brady, as well as younger brother Owen, live in Trumbull.
