The Trumbull United Lighting continued its successful season by winning the Rocky Hill Invitational A Division title last weekend.

The U-12 girls tied the West Hartford Storm in the finals, but won the first place trophy based on the overall goal differential tiebreaker.

The Lightning is undefeated on the season at 7-0-3, having scored 25 goals and only allowing three.

During the tournament, the Lightning's defense led the way, blanking their opponents in all four games.

Goalies Anabella Martins and Avianna Rivera came through every time they were tested.

The back line, led by Lucy Carlson, Adele Datz, Abby McKinney and Keelyn Trubovich, were stingy, frustrating their opponents all weekend.

The Lightning received goals and/or assists from all of their strikers and midfielders, as Brianna Buda, Isabella Callaway, Abby Lee, Katie Marchand, Maya Marin, Ella Marron, Emily Meagher and Dimitra Ritsatos each contributed.

Coach Jorge Pinto's Lightning are in the Sweet 16 of the CT Cup with a match vs. the Middletown Magic at Indian Ledge on Saturday beginning at 12:30 p.m.
