Having played to a regular-season tie, the Trumbull United Extreme girls soccer team, again, battled New Fairfield in the CJSA U14/15 Championship game this past Sunday, at Tomlinson Field in Fairfield.

The second-seeded Extreme wouldn’t be denied this time, as Annie Deal slotted home the game’s only goal in the 30th minute.

Even though Trumbull went onto dominate the second-half with multiple chances, the New Fairfield defense and goalkeeper held strong to deny Trumbull from extending its lead.

Coached by Jaime Jorge, the Extreme entered the semifinals with a 6-1-1 record

In Saturday’s semifinal match, Trumbull defeated Weston 4-2 win.

Ana Carlos, Deal, Alaina Doris and Juliana Buehler all scored goals. to help Trumbull secure it’s position in the Sunday final.

Jorge said, “We have tremendous leadership on this team. The captains created a great playing environment, and our success is a direct result of this team’s commitment to excellence.”

After losing their first game of the season 1-0 to Darien, the Extreme went on a nine-game win streak and remained undefeated the rest of the way.
