St. Joseph scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to turn back Fairfield Warde, 4-3, in an FCIAC baseball tilt in Trumbull on Wednesday.
Warde (12-6, 8-6 FCIAC) scored two runs in the top of the first inning and had a solo tally in the fourth.
St. Joseph (9-5, 8-4 FCIAC) tied the game in the bottom of the first on Matt McKernan’s two-run double.
Thomas Montelli singled in the tying run in the fifth, before Dave Capela’s sacrifice fly gave the Cadets the lead.
Giacomo Brancato had a single for the Mustangs.
Joe Zanchetti went the distance, allowing five hits, to improve to 4-0.
