Once again this year, Trumbull Pop Warner football and cheerleading we will be collecting food and clothing donations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2, at the Madison Middle School football field when it partners with Big Brother Big Sister Foundation and the Trumbull Connecticut Food Bank.

Acceptable BBBS donation items are gently used clothing, shoes, boots, sneakers, slippers, jewelry, purses and accessories and night clothes and robes.

Most needed food bank items are shelf stable milk, rice, breakfast cereal/oatmeal, dry and canned beans, canned fruits and vegetable, chunky soups and beef stew, gluten-free products, peanut butter/jelly, spaghetti and sauce (no glass jars), 100% fruit juice, tuna and other canned meat, macaroni and cheese, sugar free, low sodium and no salt items, shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste/toothbrushes, soap/body wash, shaving cream/razors, feminine products, deodorant, baby wipes and combs/brushes.
