Trumbull Post 141 beat Westport, 10-2, in a Zone 4 American Legion matchup on Thursday.

Gaetano Ciambriello (4-0) earned the victory on the mound for Trumbull (18-4) with 5 1/3 innings of one-hit pitching, while Peter Ruosso closed it out with 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. Ciambreillo struck out six, walked four and did not allow an earned run.

RBI doubles from Frank Puglia and Zach Sagar gave Trumbull Post 141 a 2-0 lead after three innings, before Simon Whiteman's RBI single drove in Kris DiCocco in the fourth.

Trumbull added four more runs in the fifth.

Dino DiGirolamo and Matt Fasoli notched RBI singles, before an infield run-scoring single by Whiteman. Justin Waldek added an RBI single to make it 7-0 Trumbull.

Westport pulled back two runs in the sixth, before Trumbull tacked on three more in the bottom of the frame.

DiGirolamo singled in Fasoli, Brian Hnatuk walked with the bases loaded and Whiteman reached on his second RBI infield single of the game.

After an off day today, Trumbull travels to Zone 4 leaders Stamford for a doubleheader at Cubeta Stadium on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Game three is set for Sunday at Trumbull High at 10:30 a.m.
