Trumbull's Dana Saad honored at N.C. State

Dana Saad of Trumbull is one of North Carolina State University’s Top Ten Scholar Athletes honored on Feb. 11 at halftime during NC States basketball game against Virginia.

Saad, a graduate of Trumbull High School, 2012, has been a member of the NC State small coed cheerleading team for the past three years.

She is majoring in social work and minoring in both psychology and spanish.

A member of the University’s Scholar Program and the National Society for Collegiate Scholars, Saad is ranked amongst the top of her class, having earned a cumulative GPA of a 4.0.

She has been recognized as a scholar athlete since 2012, received All-American honors for cheer in 2012 and 2013 and has earned a spot on the Dean’s List every semester at NC State.

Saad has volunteered in Raleigh public schools facilitating remediation and diversity programs through Read to L.E.A.D. and has also supported elementary schools students with emotional and behavioral challenges.

She plans to attend graduate school for social work and then pursue a career in school social work.
