The St. Joseph High girls soccer team will look to take the next step toward winning a Class L state title when coach Jack Nogueria\u2019s top-seeded Cadets take on No. 20 Pomperaug High from Southbury today in a 6:30 p.m. match at Newtown High. St. Joseph went 16-0-0 in the regular season; was defeated by Ridgefield High in the FCIAC finals, and has topped No. 16 Sacred Heart Academy 6-0 and No. 8 Farmington High 5-0 in the first two rounds of the tournament. Lindsey Savko, Tory Bike each scored two goals for the Cadets in the win over Farmington. Jenna Bike had a goal and an assist. Marissa Grasso (two) and Mia Moscova also had assists. Veronica O\u2019Rourke had a save in posting the shutout. Pomperaug, out of the South-West Conference, posted a 6-6-2 regular season mark. The Panthers have defeated No. 13 Ledyard 3-1, No. 4 RHAM 3-1 and No. 5 East Lyme 3-2.
