The Darien Blue Wave leads a deep group of teams into the postseason as the No. 1 seed in the FCIAC field hockey tournament, which gets underway on Friday. Darien topped the Trumbull Eagles 5-0 on Wednesday to put the finishing touches on an unbeaten FCIAC regular season. As the No. 1 seed, the Wave will host those same Eagles, the No. 8 seed, in the quarterfinals at 4 p.m., Friday at DHS. Wilton, which edged Ridgefield 1-0 on Wednesday, is the No. 2 seed. Like Darien, the Warriors\u00a0will also face their most recent opponent again, as they take on No. 7 Ridgefield in the quarterfinals on Friday. The Norwalk Bears had no trouble with the Westhill Vikings and won 11-0 on Wednesday, moving to the No. 3 seed in the tournament. The Bears will square off with No. 6 Staples in the quarterfinals on Saturday. The other quarterfinal game on Saturday will feature the No. 5 Greenwich Cardinals against the No. 4 New canaan Rams at New Canaan's Dunning Field. That game will start at 10 a.m. Greenwich and New Canaan faced each other just two weeks ago, with the Cardinals pulling out a 1-0 win at GHS. Here's the full schedule.
