The Trumbull High girls tennis team defeated St. Joseph, 6-1, on May 12.

Singles: Amy Zammarien (T) defeated Samantha Rudini, 6-0, 6-0: Carrie Maclean (T) defeated Lauren Hensley, 6-0, 6-1; Nell Condron (SJ) defeated Kristine Peterson, 6-4, 6-4 and Nicole Anderson (T) defeated Kathryn Fitzsimmons, 6-1, 6-1.

Doubles: Hannah Lillicraft/Julia Provenzano (T) defeated Olivia Hensley/Tara Francis, 6-0, 6-0; Angelika Servetas/Christina DeBenedetto (T) defeated Elizabeth Banquer/Kate Goncalves, 6-0, 6-0 and Keerthi Yalamanchili/Sruthi Kalindidi (T) defeated Aimee Champagne/Olivia Graziano, 6-0, 6-1.

Trumbull boys tennis

Trumbull High improved to 6-6 on the season with a 5-2 victory over St. Joseph (4-8) on May 12.

Singles: Nick Marchenko (T) defeated JP Gschwind, 6-0, 6-0; Cameron Hutchins (T) defeated Matt Burke, 6-0, 6-1; Reece Sowka (T) defeated Parker Diamond, 6-3, 6-4; Anush Sureshbabu (T) won by forfeit over Trent Nayne and Mike Morin (SJ) defeated Tommy Switzgable, 7-5, 6-2.

Doubles: Tom Santilli/Joe Prutting (SJ) defeated Jimmy Fisher/Mike Cancimino, 6-4, 6-2 and Thaddeus Cullina/Nikhil Ramachandran (T) defeated Alex Trefz/Owen Franis, 6-4, 6-1.

St. Joseph boys tennis

St. Joseph defeated Stamford High, 5-2, on May 6.

Tom Santilli and Joe Prutting took No. 1 doubles, 6-3, 6-0, for the Cadets.

JP Gschwind (6-1, 7-5), Matt Burke (6-2, 6-0), Parker Diamond (6-1, 6-4) and Trent Navye (6-4, 3-6, 7-5) won at singles.

Trumbull girls golf

Lexi Brown earned medalist honors with a 48 and Trumbull defeated New Canaan, 214-242, on May 12.

Emily Ruchalski and Christina Lane both had rounds of 55 and Maddie Thompson shot a 56 for the Eagles.

St. Joseph boys golf

St. Joseph played well only to lose a 160-178 decision to Staples of Westport at the par 36 Tashua Knolls course on May. 8.

John Docarmo shot a 40 to lead the Cadets (5-9) against the Wreckers (8-0-1). Nick Stauber had a 44, Mike Derbyshire a 46 and Lenny Lee a 48.

Trumbull girls track

Trumbull defeated Westhill of Stamford and dropped a three-point decision to Staples of Westport on May 12.

Katie Foley won the 400 and 200 for the Eagles. Melissa Wydra took first in the shot put.

St. Joseph girls lacrosse

St. Joseph fell behind Fairfield Warde, 9-2 at the half, and lost a 13-6 decision to the Mustangs in Trumbull on May 8.

Nicole Healey scored four goals for the Cadets (3-7). Devan Cargnel and Lindsay Lucifora also scored goals, Cargnel had an assist. Mikayla Konecy stopped 10 shots by the Mustangs (8-2-1).

Trumbull softball

Trumbull High defeated Norwalk, 8-6, on May 12. Harleigh Kaczegowicz had three triples for coach Cary Nadel’s Eagles (10-5 overall, 9-4 in the FCIAC).

Christie Costello (three runs scored) and Emily Clark (two RBIs, two runs scored) also had three hits.

Kristine Liptack (two RBIs), Megan Thaler (double) and Samantha Platz (triple) each had two hits. Taylor Brown knocked in a run.

Costello and Kaczegowicz and scored three runs each to help Trumbull defeat Bridgeport Central, 15-1, on May 8.

Marisa Valenti, Taylor Brown and Kristine Liptack added two hits apiece. Brown drove home three runs, and Liptack and Kaczegowicz both had two RBIs.

St. Joseph softball

St. Joseph suffered its first loss of the season on Wednesday, losing 1-0 to Darien High. Erika Osherow allowed only two hits and drove in the decisive run with a double in the third inning for the Blue Wave (12-1, 10-1 FCIAC).

Nicole Williams struck out 10 batters for the Cadets (12-1, 10-1 FCIAC).

Trumbull volleyball

Darien High defeated the Trumbull, 25-14, 25-14, 25-18, on May 9.

Darien improved to 10-4 overall and 10-2 in the FCIAC. Trumbull is 4-8, 4-6 FCIAC.

Alan Ochoa (4 kills, 1 block and 1 dig), Lucas Ferreira (12 assists and 4 digs) Jeremiah Caraballo (5 kills and 13 digs) and John Brindisi (18 digs) led the Eagles.

St. Joseph volleyball

St. Joseph lost, 3-1, to New Canaan on May 12. Kevin Stapleton had 26 kills. Erik Lewicki had eight assists, six kills and three aces for the Cadets (6-6).

Connor Gallagher had 21 assists, and Stapleton added six aces and a block.
