Weather forces Trumbull, St. Joseph hoops to postpone games

UPDATED: Tuesday, March 3 at 11:18 a.m.: Both Trumbull and St. Joseph high schools are going to have to wait at least 24 hours to battle in the boys and girls basketball postseason.

The Trumbull High School boys basketball was schedule to take on top-seeded Westhill High School in the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference semifinal round at 7:30 p.m. tonight.

Due to the incoming inclement weather heading this way, both the Trumbull vs. Westhill and the Norwalk vs. Wilton FCIAC semifinal games will be moved to Wednesday at Fairfield Warde High School.

The weather has also forced the St. Joseph and Trumbull girls basketball teams from starting its runs in the state tournament.

The Eagles, competing in the class LL tournament, were supposed to start tonight with a game against No. 20 seed Lauralton Hall. That has has been moved to Wednesday at 5 p.m. and will still be playing on the campus of THS.

Also scheduled today, the St. Joseph girls basketball was ready to start its playoff run in class M, but they're going to wait until Wednesday to play its opening round game against No. 22 seeded Windham High School. Game time is still slated for 7 p.m.
