The Trumbull High School boys and girls track teams had a solid performance at the 84th Greater Hartford Outdoor Track & Field Invitational.

The Eagles placed eighth out of the 21 schools competing.

Highlights included Tyler Gleen placing second in the 800 with a time of 1:57:54 and Shane Romanchick placing eighth in the 3200 with a time of 10:07:13, good enough to qualify for states.

The following THS athletes received medals after they placed in the top eight.

Boys: 100 dash: Marquis Woods 11:68 6th place; 800 Gleen 1:57:54 second, Taylor Auten 2:03:9 seventh, Dylan McEniry 2:04:64 ninth; 3200: Romanchick 10:07:13 eighth; and  4x400 Gleen, Auten, McEniry and Nick Semenza fifth 3:35:59.

Girls: 4x800: Sydney Adams, Kate Romanchick, Ashley Storino and Lauren Brideau fifth 10:22:92; 4x100 Erica Woolen, Devin Cuevas, Kathleen Kaufmann and Haley Mocker seventh 52:53; 3200: Romanchick sixth 11:50:77; shot put: Nicole Baker 27-05 eighth; discus throw: Taylor Oliver 85-10 fifth; Nicole Baker 84-04 seventh; javelin throw: Gabriela Misiewicz 101-00 fifth; and Oliver 96-00 seventh.
