The Trumbull High boys basketball team leveraged a 17-5 run in the second quarter into a 57-48 FCIAC victory over visiting Bassick High from Bridgeport on Friday night.
Coach Buddy Bray's Eagles were up 14-12 entering the second period and took a 45-31 lead into the final frame.
Billy Brown (four steals) scored 22 points, Rashard Rodriguez (nine points) pulled down 17 rebounds and Ben McCullough (12 points) had 10 rebounds for Trumbull (5-2 overall, 4-2 FCIAC).
Eddie McElroy had nine points and five assists.
Kobe Ancrom scored 22 points for Bassick (2-4, 2-4 FCIAC).
