Trumbull baseball falls to Simsbury in states

The Trumbull High baseball team lost a 2-0 decision to Simsbury High in the Class LL state tournament on Wednesday.

Coach Phil Pacelli’s Eagles finished the season at 10-11.

Tenth-seeded Simsbury, now 16-5, will play No. 7 Southington in the second round on Thursday.

Brian Hnatuk had a double for 23rd-seeded Trumbull.

Connor Smith and Dino DiGirolomo each singled.

Joe Nemchek (4-2) allowed six hits and runs in the third and sixth innings.
