The atmosphere was electric for the two high schools located in Trumbull.

Meeting on the campus of Fairfield University, the Trumbull High School and St. Joseph High School boys and girls basketball teams took to the hardwood at Alumni Hall as the two cross-town rivals participated in the Officials vs. Cancer Battle for Trumbull doubleheader.

Tickets for the event were $5 and $1 of each ticket sold went to the American Cancer Society. Athletes, as well as coaches, were wearing their pink with pride Saturday night, whether on ties, shirts or shoelaces.

Sponsors from the event were Connecticut Hoopsters, the Dennis Lindwall Foundation, Napoli Nissan of Milford and the Trefez Family McDonalds.

The Eagles came out victorious in both games, as the boys team upended the Cadets 72-60. On the girls side, Trumbull pulled away late and won 44-34.
