The Trumbull High School softball team exploded out of the gate in scoring three runs and held on for the 3-2 victory against Westhill High School earlier today.

For the Eagles, Harleigh Kaczegowicz led the way by going 2-for-2 with one run scored. Not to be outdone was Lea Thompson, who finished the day 2-f0r-3 with one run scored. Teammate Taylor Brown also went 2-for-3 and added two runs batted in and one run scored.

On the mound, Trumbull was paced by Ally Szabo, as she finished with nine hits and one earned run while striking out six batters and walking two.

With the victory, Trumbull softball improved to 4-0 on the season and will be back in action Friday when they battle Norwalk High School.
