The Trumbull High boys track team placed fourth and the Eagles’ girls team was seventh at the FCIAC Championships.

Tyler Gleen and Kate Romanchick made All-FCIAC.

Gleen posted a win in the 400-meter run in 49.32 and took third in the 800-meter run in 1:56.22.

Romanchick placed second to Hannah DeBalsi in both the 1600-meter run in 5:09.32 and the 3200-meter run in 11:21. She helped her team finish 6th in the 4x800.

The top six in each event medal and the top two finishers in each event qualify for the All-FCIAC team.

Gleen competed against top runners James Lewis of Staples, Jake Roberts of Danbury and Ian Bartlett of Fairfield Ludlowe in the 800-meter run.

It was a fast-paced race with Gleen, Roberts and Bartlett crossing the finish line together.

Race officials had to review the video to determine the winner, before Lewis took the win in 1:56.13. Roberts was second in 156:20, Gleen third in 156.22 and Bartlett fourth in 156.81.

The 1600 girls run also drew some excitement. DeBalsi took first overall in 4:59.98.

The second and third positions went back and forth between Hetty McMillan of Greenwich and Romanchick.

Romanchick was able to pull ahead in the last 200 meters and held strong to take second in a time of 5:09.32 to McMillan’s time of 511.96.
