The Trumbull High girls track and field qualifiers competed at the the Class LL Championships at Willowbrook Park in New Britain on Tuesday.

Top eight event finishers earn team points. The top six medal-winning competitors with a qualifying time or top-five finish advance to the State Open.

Top scorers for Trumbull High were Kate Romanchick, who placed sixth overall in the 3200-meter run with a personal record time of 11:22, good to qualify for the Opens.

Tara Oliver finished sixth earning a medal in the javelin throw of 103-03 and was seventh in the discus throw at 93-00.

Other track competitors included:

Nicole Cannone placing 35th in the 100 meter dash in 14.11.

Haley Mocker was 14th in the 200 meter dash in 27:23.

Sydney Adams was 20th in the  3200-meter run in 11:58:23.

The 4x100 relay team of Cannone, Devin Cuevas, Lianne Iassogna and Kathleen Kaufmann were 16th in  53:37.

The 4x400 relay team of Cuevas, Stephanie Kokenos, Valerie Mingrone, Haley Moker, Gesia Scaccia and Ashley Storino were 13th in 4:17.85.

The 4x800 relay team of Adams, Krystyna Kryzanski, Storino and Romanchick were  12th in 10:15.50.

In field events:

Megan Switzgable was 12th in the high jump at 4-8.

Meghan Malloy and Bridget Weston placed in the long jump.

Gesica Scaccia was 13th in the triple jump at 30-10.75 and Weston was 20th at 28-07.25.

Nicole Baker was  16th in the discus throw at 72-08, and Lisa Giannini 18th at 66-00.

Gabriela Misiewicz was  19th in the javelin throw at 81.01.
