THS baseball shut down by Bunnell's Rossomando

Trumbull High lost an 11-1 non-league baseball decision to Bunnell High in Stratford on Thursday.

Ronnie Rossomando, a UConn commit since his sophomore year, allowed only two hits in his five innings of work. The right-handed senior struck out nine batters.

Coach Phil Pacelli’s Eagles  scored their run in the seventh. Alex Ruoso hit a double and scored on Justin Waldek’s ground out.

Trumbull is 1-1. Bunnell is 2-0.

The Bulldogs’ Justin Lasko had four RBIs — a first inning double that scored Brian Valeriano, who had singled, and a bases-loaded double in the fifth inning.

Chris Loehn and Valeriano drove in third-inning runs to give Bunnell a 3-0 lead.

The Bulldogs made it 5-0 in the fourth with Aaron Rios doubling home a pair of runs.

Zach Piroh had a two-run single before Lasko’s base-clearing two-bagger to the fence in left field.
