Student recognized as a First Tee Scholar

Eric Waldo of Trumbull is one of 100 high school seniors in the nation, to earn the designation as a First Tee Scholar, Class of 2013. The First Tee Scholars Program recognizes these athletes for exceptional achievement in academics, leadership, character development and chapter and community involvement.

Eric has been a member of the The First Tee at Fairchild Wheeler, in Fairfield, since the age of 13, where he learned the game of golf, and moved up the levels through their life skills and core values program. The First Tee afforded him many wonderful opportunities to golf at exclusive courses and to meet pro golfers like J.J. Henry and Padraig Harrington.

Besides his involvement with the First Tee, Eric has been on the Trumbull High School Boys Golf Team since sophomore year, volunteers as an assistant coach for the Connecticut Special Olympics Golf team every summer and fall, and works as an after-school counselor for 4th and 5th graders, with Trumbull Loves Children, Inc.

Eric plans on studying Business Economics/Finance at the University of Connecticut in the fall.
