Ridgefield High rode a two-goal edge it gained in the second period to a 5-2 FCIAC boys hockey win over St. Joseph High on Saturday.
The Cadets’ Filippo Petrini, on an assist from Nick DiSabella, tied the game at 1-1 at the 5:52 mark of the first period.
Paul Garlick, who had opened the scoring for the 10-2-0 Tigers, and Jimmy Wilkinson tallied goals in the second period.
Will Foldesi scored unassisted for St. Joseph (5-5-1) to make the score 3-2 to open the final period, before Jack McGeary and Liam Smith had goals for Ridgefield.
Dylan Batterson had 30 saves for St. Joseph and Alec Schneider 34 stops for Ridgefield.
