St. Joseph leads Cromwell 31-16 at halftime of Class M basketball final

A great second quarter has the St. Joseph Cadets up on the Cromwell Panthers, 31-16, as the CIAC Class M girls basketbal final has reached at halftime at the Mohegan Sun Arena.

The Cadets outscored the Panthers 20-10 in the second quarter after scoring the final five points of the first quarter. That combination turned a 6-5 deficit into St. Joe’s current 15-point lead.

Bridget Sharnick leads the Cadets with a game-best 13 points, while Shannon O’Meara has six. Caitlin Sharnick has four points, Ana DoCarmo and Juliana Farmer each have three, and Jacqueline Jozefick has two points.

On the boards, Caitlin Sharnick has five rebounds, and Bridget Sharnick and Jozefick each have three.

For Cromwell, Emma Belcourt has scored six points, Nicole Rojas has four and Mya Villard has four points and five rebounds.
