Winning games three and four, coach Marty Dempsey’s St. Joseph boys volleyball team forced Darien High to a five-game match in Trumbull on Friday.

Darien (13-4) scored a 15-11 victory in the decisive set, after taking the first two games by scores of 25-20 and 25-19.

For St. Joseph (7-7), Kevin Stapleton had 36 kills and four blocks. Erik Lewicki  had six kills, to go with 10 assists and two blocks. Connor Gallagher had 26 assists.

For Darien, George Phillips had 26 kills and 18 digs, Todd Herget had 12 kills and 15 digs and Tim Herget had 40 assists.

St. Joseph will host Trumbull High Monday at 4 p.m.
