St. Joseph falls to fifth-seeded South Windsor

St Joseph High lost a 62-44 road decision to South Windsor in the first round of the Class LL state tournament on Tuesday.

Coach Chris Lindwall’s 28th-seeded Cadets finished the season at 8-13. Fifth-seeded South Windsor improved to 19-3.

St. Joseph was within 43-39 after three quarters before South Windsor pulled away.

Caitlyn Sharnick scored 12 points, Lauren Della Vecchia 10, and Jenn Vasquez and Lauren Pitney split 10 markers.

Mairead Donahue had 10 rebounds and blocked three shots.

Della Vecchia had five steals and four assists.
