St. Joseph defeated Trumbull High, 13-4, in a crosstown FCIAC baseball contest on Friday.
Junior Matt McKernan got the Cadets’ hitting machine off to an early start, putting St. Joseph on the board with a solo home run in the bottom of the third.
He followed up with a two-run triple in the next frame to give St. Joseph a 4-2 lead.
The Cadets took a 7-4 lead into the bottom of the sixth before hitting around for a six-run frame highlighted by a three-run triple by senior Andrew Walsh.
On the mound, Chris Kirven and Mike D’Agostino combined to hold Trumbull to four runs and five hits.
