The St. Joseph Cadets will be the No. 1 seed when the first pitch is thrown in the FCIAC softball tournament on Tuesday.

The final seedings and match-ups were set when the Ludlowe Falcons edged the New Canaan Rams, 6-4 in nine innings, Saturday afternoon in New Canaan’s Waveny Park. Unlike the playoff race for baseball, the eight tournament teams were decided earlier this week with only final seedings being contested on Friday and Saturday.

Hosting quarterfinal games will be the top four seeds: No. 1 St. Joseph (17-1 FCIAC), No. 2 Darien (16-2), No. 3 Greenwich (15-3) and No. 4 Ludlowe (14-4).

The rest of the field includes No. 5 Stamford and No. 6 Westhill (both 13-5 with Stamford winning the tiebreaker), No. 7 Trumbull (12-6) and No. 8 New Canaan.
