Boys ice hockey will put a cap on the 2016 FCIAC winter season when the league crowns its final champion on Saturday, March 5.

In the semifinals, Greenwich shut out No. 4 Ridgefield, 3-0, to claim their spot in the championship. St. Joseph upset No. 2 Darien in a tight defensive game, 2-1, that saw the Cadets’ goalie, Ryan Wilson, make more than 40 saves.

Greenwich comes into the championship with a 17-4 overall record and 11-1 in the FCIAC, including the postseason. St. Joseph is 12-9-1 overall and 8-4-1 in league play.

Throughout the season the FCIAC’s boys and girls hockey teams have been raising money to support ALS research. You can donate online or at the games as each team competes to raise more money. Find out more about FCIAC’s work to #IceALS at this link.
