TRUMBULL — Trumbull rolled to its ninth consecutive win to open the season when coach Jaqui Sheftz’ Eagles shut out Fairfield Ludlowe, 4-0, on Tuesday.
Julie Huzi had a two-run single in the second, as Trumbull moved to 6-0 in the FCIAC.
Alexa Adinolfi had an RBI single in the third and Cassi Barbato hit a double.
Emily Gell allowed four hits with nine strikeouts.
Ludlowe’s Kylee Hodfied struck out 10 and had two hits for the Falcons (5-3).
Ranked second in the GameTimeCT Top 10 poll, Trumbull will visit No. 3 St. Joseph on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
