The Trumbull High softball team made use of its six hits when they defeated visiting New Canaan on Saturday.

Taylor Brown hit a two-run home run and Lea Thompson drilled an RBI triple when coach Jacqui Sheftz’s Eagles scored multiple runs in three frames, as they improved to 4-2 (2-1 FCIAC).

Gillian Kane had two hits, including a double, for the Rams (3-3).

Trumbull’s Ally Szabo struck out 12, before Marisa Valenti came in to complete the five-hitter and struck out three.

The Eagles’ Delilha Destefano had two hits and an RBI.

Sarah Angelo had two hits and scored two runs.

The Rams’ Molly Keshin had a two-run single in the third.
