Softball: St. Joseph defeats Ludlowe in extra innings
St. Joseph’s Hanna Errico drove in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning when the Cadets defeated visiting Fairfield Ludlowe, 3-2, on Friday.
Coach Jeff Babineau’s club improved to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the FCIAC with their second consecutive one-run victory
Jovanna Hillman and Errico had two hits for the winners, who plated runs in the first and third inning.
Megan Szuchman had an RBI single and Brittany Romero tripled for coach Sara Paci’s Falcons (4-2, 3-1 FCIAC), who scored runs in the fourth and sixth innings.
Nicole Williams allowed four hits and struck out 13.
Romero struck out six.
