Softball: St. Joseph completes perfect FCIAC campaign

The St. Joseph softball team completed its regular season with an 8-0 victory over Trinity Catholic in Trumbull on Wednesday.

Coach Jeff Babineau’s Cadets closed with a 19-1 record, 16-0 in the FCIAC. Seeded first for the conference playoffs, the Cadets will host No. 8 Danbury (10-6) in the quarterfinals on Friday at 4 p.m.

Jovanna Hillman had two hits and two RBIs in the win over Trinity Catholic.

Melissa Bike had two hits.

Nicole Williams allowed only two hits and struck out 14.

The Crusaders’ Leah Zarrilli had two hits and starred defensively.
