Softball: Cadets' Williams throws perfect game

Sophomore Nicole Williams threw a five-inning perfect game to lead the St. Joseph High softball team a 12-0 mercy-rule shortened victory over Norwalk High on Monday at the Dalling Sports Complex.

Williams struck out nine in the circle, while freshman second baseman Hanna Errico preserved the perfect game with diving stop on Cassidy's Somma's hard grounder up the middle leading off the top of the third.

Williams also helped her cause with three hits and two runs batted in at the plate. Mickaela Mallozzi added three hits and one run scored. Lauren Pitney, Tori Ceballos, Amy Chacho and Lauren Blose notched two hits apiece.

The Cadets improved to 7-0. The Bears dropped to 3-2.
