The Trumbull High boys cross country team swept its meet at Ridgefield High on Tuesday. The Eagles posted wins over Ridgefield, Ludlowe and Westhill. Charlie Taubl finished first for Trumbull in a time of 17:58, with teammate Mitch Vecchione placing a close second in a time of 17:59.

Trumbull boys had cause for celebration with 6 of their runners finishing in the top 10 giving them a solid win. Top 10 finishers: 1. Taubl 17:58, 2. Vecchione 17:59, 3. Ben Ertel Lud 18:03, 4. Taylor Auten T 18:04, 5. Chris Alegi T 18:11, 6 Aren Heitmann Lud 18:28, 7. Jake Cappello T 18:37, 8. Joshua Mensah WH 18:41, 9 Jake Duncan Lud 18:45 10. Jonathan Tinker T 18:45.

On the girls side, Kate Romanchick finished first overall posting her third win of the season. She completed the 5K course in a solid time of 20:29. Romanchick and Ridgefield's top runner Kelsey Bordash ran side-by-side the first mile. Romanchick kicked it up in the second mile separating herself from Bordash and outpacing her by  21 seconds. Kaley Fasoli finished 9th overall and 2nd for Trumbull in a time of 23:11. The girls had a win over Westhill, but lost to Ludlowe and Ridgefield who had 6 girls finish in the top 10.
