St. Joseph High lost a 6-5 boys hockey shootout with Ridgefield High at the Winter Garden Arena on Saturday.

The Cadets are 3-7-0 and the Tigers are 9-3-0.

Colin Powell tied the game at 1 for St. Joseph off an assist from Dom DeRosa at the 14:46 mark of the first period.

The Tigers scored two quick goals in the second, before St. Joseph’s Chris Kirven scored unassisted at 2:27.

Ridgefield made it 5-2 later in the stanza, and DeRosa, from Tom Schaefer, brought the Cadets within 5-3 with one period remaining.

Again, Ridgefield struck first in the final frame.

Dom Sidorczuk, with assists to Adam Usinger and Ryan Corcoran, found the net at 13:16.

DeRosa’s unassisted goal accounted for the final margin at the 14:17 mark.
