Polzello shoots 81 to lead Eagles at FCIAC golf

The Trumbull High boys golf team shot a 332 and placed seventh at the FCIAC Championships on the par 71 course at the Fairchild Wheeler Golf Club on June 2.

Greenwich (307) won the team title, followed by Darien (307) and Ridgefield (310). Greenwich’s Paul Pastore and Ridgefield’s Jonathan Spicci tied for individual titlists with rounds of 73.

Owen Polzello led the Eagles with an 81, shooting a 41 on the front nine and 40 on the back.

Mike Kenler was also consistent throughout the round with matching 41s to close at 82.

Patrick Heeks was best through nine holes at 37 and finished with an 85.

Mitchell French shot an 84 (42-42) and Zac Parente a 93 (42-51).
