Keep the line moving most commonly refers to a hitter’s mantra during a baseball game. But manager Brett Conner’s Trumbull Post 141’s American Legion pitching staff has readily accepted a similar invitation.

Trumbull has a team ERA of under 1.40 through 17 games, and went 39 innings at one stretch without allowing a run.

Stanley Wolpiuk had the first shutout, blanking Ridgefield 4-0 on June 24. Nikko Arganese posted another 4-0 complete-game win the next day.

Tim Keckler got the start in a 3-0 win over Ridgefield on June 26.

Not to be outdone, Matt Baccaro turned back Fairfield 8-0 on June 26.

Brian Hnatuk pitched a three-hitter and Luke Waldek got the final out on strikes in a 4-0 victory over the Fairfielders in the first game of a doubleheader on June 27.
