The Trumbull boys and girls varsity cross country teams competed against Staples of Westport, Ridgefield High, Bassick of Bridgeport and host Fairfield Ludlowe on Tuesday.

Kate Romanchick finished third overall behind Staples’ Erica Hefnawy and Ridgefield’s Kelse Bordash. She was first for THS on the 2.9 mile course with a time of 19:17.

Other top runners for the Eagles were Julia Provenzano (19:49), Natalie Faivre (21:11), Emma Soltis (21:27), Carrie Foito (21:51), Erin Gillespe (21:57), Jillian Ryan (21:58), Valerie Mingrone (22:11), Louren Brideau (22:13), Taylor Brown (23:03), Kelsey McKeon (23;07), Victoria Estacio (23;49), Alyssa Centopani (24:40) and Emma Thornton (25:28).

Nick Grew had a strong finish for the boys team and was sixth overall with a time of 16:21.

Shane Romanchick (16:38) was 10th, followed by Mitch Venchione (17:49),  Johnathon Tinker (1724), Matthew Prior (17:31), Taylor Auten (17:55), Dylon Koury (18:46), Trevor Rochelle (18:30), Dan Rouleau (18:43), Jack Stachura (19:12), Thomas Daly (19:23), Kyle Koury (19:29), Brendan Butler (19:49) and Edward McElroy (19:59).

The Eagles ended the day with wins over Ridgefield and Bassick.
