Manya Makoski, one of Trumbull’s own has come out of retirement from her professional soccer career to play again in the UEFA Women’s Champions League in Europe.

Makoski, who currently serves as the girls varsity associate head coach at the Christian Heritage School in Trumbull, has signed on for a brief stint with one of her former teams in Finland, Aland United, for three games over the next two weeks in the qualifying stages of the top club tournament in Europe.

Makoski has played professional soccer in Europe and in the United States.

The last time she played with Aland United in 2012, she scored 31 goals over 26 games.

Makoski, who starred scholastically at Trumbull High and played collegiately at Arizona State University, will return in time for the fall season at Christian Heritage School, where she not only coaches but is also the Director of Soccer Operations.
