Trumbull High School Senior Linda McAuley (second from right) competed at the 2014 New England Interscholastic Girls Gymnastics Championships on Saturday, March 15, at Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough, MA.

McAuley, the reigning FCIAC all around champion, was the first Eagle in seven years to qualify for New Englands, where she competed in the vault, beam and floor exercise.

McAuley had a strong routine on floor for a 9.1 and was solid on the beam with a 9.4, placing her 7th in the region.

She finished the day with a great vault and earned a 9.7, which gave her the silver medal and the second best high school vault in New England.

McAuley is first-team All-State in all four events and the all around.

McAuley led her Trumbull team to an undefeated regular season, FCIAC team title as well as a Class L runner up team finish. She also set four school records during the 2013-2014 season.
